About

I create documentary films with a focus on migration.

I have made films for a variety of clients in South Africa, UK, Kenya and Angola.

Having worked and studied in the refugee sector for almost fifteen years, I have transitioned from advocacy to communications. I now combine my knowledge of social justice and human rights law with multimedia content creation.

Film-making is part of my work as co-founder and co-director of Surefire Communications, a communications agency specialising in the NGO sector.

Recent work

On The Line

South Africa deports thousands of people every year. In fact, it is one of the world’s most prolific deporting nations. On The Line provides an in-depth look at South Africa’s immigration detention and deportation system – notorious for human rights abuse, ineffectiveness and corruption – and potential alternatives for a more just future.

The Beehive

The Beehive, a short animation, follows the story of a young adult who has migrated to South Africa. It aims to raise awareness – especially among those working with children on the move – around the nuanced complexity of their realities, pasts and present.
